I spent six years as a Starbucks barista and in that time I went from a coffee hater…to an all out obsessed coffee junkie! I started to love everything about coffee, the taste, the smell, the process of brewing and making drinks, finding the perfect food and coffee paring, and connecting with others over our mutual love of coffee. I loved getting to talk to people about coffee, it created a connection with someone I might not have ever spoken with otherwise. It made me want to learn and discover everything I could, from different brew methods, to different types of coffees, to new and interesting food parings, to new products, and even how to use coffee in cooking and baking recipes. I may not be barista any more, but I guess you can take the barista out of the coffee shop, but you can’t take the barista out of the girl. Because, even two years after making my last latte I still have the same love and passion for coffee that I did when I was barista. I love traveling around finding new and unique independent coffee shops, trying all the ways I can brew and make coffee drinks at home, discovering all the newest and latest coffee products, and testing out every recipe that involves coffee in same way. And now I want to share it all with you! Eight years ago I walked into a Starbucks looking for a job, and I came away with what I believe will be a life long love and passion. I hope you’ll join me on this crazy coffee adventure, because I think we’re in for some good stuff!
